  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and one tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
  3. Reduce heat to medium; add remaining butter and sliced onion to the skillet. Sauté until softened and lightly browned (10-15 minutes).
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and scrape any brown bits from the pan. Stir in sour cream until smooth.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet; coat with sauce and serve immediately.
